The Shaw Group has signed a new contract with Arizona Public Service (APS) to provide maintenance and construction services to eight fossil power plants in the US states of Arizona and New Mexico. The value of the three-year contract has not been disclosed, but will be included in Shaw’s Plant Services segment’s backlog of unfilled orders in the second quarter of fiscal year 2012.
Shaw president of plant services division Ron McCall said with the addition of fossil fleet services, the company will develop a strong alliance with APS to help them safely and efficiently generate electricity for the long term. APS Fossil Generation senior vice president Mark Schiavoni said Arizona’s extreme temperatures and historical growth will require the availability of power plants to be maintained at the highest level. Shaw offers full-service plant engineering, reliability, turnaround and outage services with construction management and modification support.
