GE awarded contracts for Saudi power plant

GE has signed agreements worth approximately USD 700 million to supply power generation equipment and long-term services for a new gas fired power plant in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia’s demand for reliable electricity is increasing at the rate of 8% per year, and the new plant, called Riyadh PP11, is located at Dhuruma, about 80km west of Riyadh and will contribute 15%, or nearly 1730MW of power to the overall generation capacity in Saudi Arabia’s central region once it is implemented.
