On the 2nd and 3rd of January, GEMÜ, the valves, measurement and control system company from Ingelfingen, Germany, celebrated the inauguration of its new centre for innovation and development, the company’s 45th anniversary and the 70th birthday of the company’s founder and owner Fritz Müller. During the two days, around 1000 guests from all over the world came to the new building in Waldzimmern. In the run-up to the event, Fritz Müller had already asked not to receive any gifts for himself. Instead, because the education of our young people and in particular the technical and industrial staff of the future is a subject close to his heart, he asked for donations to the Gewerbliche Schule Künzelsau. Around 500 young people from 12 professions and 9 classes launch their professional careers or further training from here each year. As Helmut Kercher, the district treasurer of the Hohenlohe area, observes, this is true to the school’s motto, which speaks of educating for a professional future. The guests, many of them from the region, gave generously. Fritz Müller, honorary President of the fundraising group of the Gewerbliche Schule, spontaneously rounded the amount up to EUR 25,000. The teachers and the fundraising group will decide what to do with the money in the coming days or weeks.
