German valves for Belarus refinery

ARCA Regler GmbH (Tönisvorst, Germany) has been granted an order of more than 90 control and switch-over valves for a big refinery in Belarus. Valves of a nominal width from DN 1″ (25) to DN 16″ (400) ANSI 300 as well as several butterfly valves up to a nominal width of DN 1000 have been supplied by ARCA. All valves will be used in the hydrocracker plant of the refinery and had to be designed according to the technical operating values and for a temperature of down to minus 37°C. High demands have in addition been made by the customer on the leak tightness of the valves. The switch-over valves, also the ones with high nominal widths, had to show a leak tightness of the highest leak class VI, that can only be fulfilled by a resilient sealing. Valves with nominal width above 10″ require servo forces of up to 100 tons. The necessary pneumatic actuators have been developed by von Rohr Armaturen AG, an affiliated company of ARCA Regler GmbH, and equipped with a hydraulic hand actuation device. Traditional mechanical hand wheels can only generate the required forces with special gears. The actuators have been delivered separately due to transport and product engineering reasons and have been mounted and, together with the valves, tested on site by approved ARCA service technicians.
