Gladstone LNG project a go

Fluor Corp. has received a USD 3.5 billion engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Australian oil major Santos Ltd. for its Gladstone Liquefied Natural Gas (GLNG) project in Queensland, Australia. The contract includes upstream facilities for the 7.8 million tns/yr liquefied natural gas project. The project will extract and liquefy gas from oil deposits. Construction will commence immediately with 1500 jobs to be created in the first half of 2011.
