The Haydon Switch size 14 hybrid linear actuator is now available with a specifically designed encoder for applications that require feedback. The compact optical incremental encoder design is available with two-channel quadrature TTL square-wave outputs. An optional index pulse is also available as a third channel for many resolutions. The encoder is offered in resolutions ranging from 50 to 1024 counts per revolution. Simplicity and low cost make the encoders ideal for both high- and low-volume motion control applications. The internal monolithic electronic module converts the real-time position, speed, and direction into TTL compatible outputs, and the encoder module incorporates a lensed LED light source and monolithic photodetector array with signal shaping electronics to produce the two-channel bounceless TTL output. Typical applications include valve control, x-y tables, medical equipment, semiconductor handling and telecommunications equipment or wherever precise positioning, rapid motion and long life are needed. In addition to standard configurations, custom designs are possible to meet specific application requirements.
