GE control valve technology has been selected for an offshore production platform that is a key component in the development of the Hejre oil and gas field in the Danish sector of the North Sea. The development project is expected to increase the reliability of Denmark’s oil and gas supply and is a significant step toward the country achieving energy independence.
GE Oil & Gas will supply control valves from its Masoneilan product line to Technip, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company that is building the Hejre offshore platform in partnership with DSME. DONG E&P, a subsidiary of DONG Energy, the Danish-based energy company, is the operator of the field, which is expected to produce 16M m3 of oil and 10B m3 of gas during its operational lifetime. The GE valves will be used to control flow, pressure, level or temperature on separators, coolers and scrubbers, injection pumps, export pumps and metering for the Hejre project.
“With an installed base of more than 3M valves, our expertise in valve technology is well established and was a key factor in winning this significant contract,” said Tim Povall, Europe region leader for GE’s Measurement & Control business. “Our heritage in valve technology dates back more than a century, and over that time, our customers have learned that they can count on our products and services to protect their process assets.”
