South Korea-based Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, in partnership with Technip, has won a USD 560 million deal to build an oil production offshore platform for Denmark-based Dong Energy and Germany’s Bayerngas. Technip confirmed the Hejre project contract will cover engineering, procurement, fabrication, hook-up, and commissioning assistance for a fixed wellhead and process platform and associated facilities.
The platform will be designed to process high pressure and high temperature hydrocarbon fluids, aiming to produce 35,000bpd and up to 76 million cu/ft of gas per day. The platform will include topsides weighing 11,500tns supported by a 6500tns jacket as well as providing accommodation for 70 people. The jacket and wellhead unit will be delivered in 2014, the topsides and living quarter in 2015, with the contract to be executed from the company’s Paris centre, with the support of offices in Chennai and Mumbai. First oil and gas are expected in late 2015.
