Hima-Sella and specialist valve manufacturer BEL Valves have teamed up to provide a complete High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS) solution for the oil and gas industry. The result of their close collaboration is a one-stop-shop approach to HIPPS – being able to purchase every element of a HIPPS solution from a single source. The complete HIPPS loop includes hardware – pressure transmitters, failsafe solid-state logic solver, hydraulically and pneumatically operated actuators and gate or ball valves. The scope can also include an independent SIL3 probability failure on demand report and fractional calculations, to confirm that the system fully meets Safety Integrity Level 3 and the requirements of IEC 61508. A HIPPS can be designed to operate with a higher level of system integrity and being independently instrumented, offers the ultimate in system protection.
