HORA: new training centre

Holter Regelarmaturen GmbH & Co. KG (HORA) has formally opened its new Training Centre and permanent HORA Show Room at the end of 2000, with guests from mechanical engineering companies throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. A modern training centre as well as a permanent HORA product exhibition have been developed which cover an area of 150 m2. Superseding the traditional overhead projector, a fixed beamer enables the direct projection of images and data from a PC, video or camera onto a screen. PC connections and access to the LAN allow the staging of product, IT and Internet training programmes as well as company presentations. HORA’s own valve calculation and selection software can be presented to a large audience, as can the company’s product animations. The HORA product animations are computer simulations with which one can illustrate even complex functions of particular HORA-products. The training centre is designed for customers and business partners, but also serves as a location for training and informing the HORA staff. Considerable investment and many months of rebuilding have transformed the former assembly hall into an architecturally interesting centre which also includes the HORA product exhibition. The latter exhibits all of HORA’s product lines, ranging from steam traps and HVAC control valves to power plant valves weighing several tonnes. It is even possible to demonstrate the pneumatically driven operation of these complex power plant valves.
