Hot-tap contract on Johan Sverdrup

An EPC contract for the Johan Sverdrup gooseneck spool and retrofit hot-tap tee has been awarded to IKM Ocean Design by Statoil on behalf of Gassco.

The Johan Sverdrup Field is owned by the licences PL265,PL501 and Pl502 on NCS. The Field is located approximately 40 km south of Grane, 65km north of Sleipner and 140km West of Stavanger. Oil will be exported via a new pipeline to the Mongstad terminal and gas to Kårstø via a new pipeline and Statpipe (P31). The connection to Statpipe will be by subsea ”hot-tapping” and tie-in to a 30’’ retrofit tee utilizing Statoil’s state-of-the-art diverless equipment at the PRS base in Haugesund.

The execution will involve several IKM companies including IKM Maskinering and IKM Mekaniske for machining and fabrication work.

The CEO of IKM Ocean Design, Peder Hoås, was earlier this year contracted to supply the 40” Zeepipe IIA retrofit hot-tap tee connection for the gas injection system to Gina Krog.

With the Johan Sverdrup Gooseneck Spool and Retrofit Hot-tap Tee EPC Contract, IKM Ocean Design strengthens its position as an EPC supplier of subsea structures and solutions for hot-tapping.

IKM Ocean Design is already involved in the Johan Sverdrup Development through the ongoing SURF Detail Engineering and Services 2015 – 2020.
