Hydroelectric plans for Georgia

Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Giorgi Kavelashvili has said that eight new power plants are to be built in Georgia. He said that there are investors for all eight hydroelectric power stations, including Dariali, Larsi, Shilda and three hydroelectric power stations at Namahvani. The investment will be approximately USD 1 Billion for the stations at Namahvani, to be carried out by Turkey-based Nurol Energy Production and Korea-based SK Engineering and Construction. A total investment for all eight hydroelectric power stations is USD 1.5 Billion.
