IMC invests

International Motion Control (IMC) is to invest two million pounds at its Midlands-based manufacturing facility. The investment has seen a move towards lean production techniques, including new machine tools and staff training with the aim to reduce production cycle times, improve quality, reduce customer lead times and increase manufacturing capacity. To help realise new production targets and satisfy increasing demand, IMC has also appointed new management in the Quality Control, Purchasing, and Sales departments. Alan Marston will now head up Distribution for Alcon Solenoid Valves and Landon Kingsway; John Arrowsmith is the new UK Sales Manager for Midland-ACS concentrating on the Oil and Gas market as well as the rail industry; and John Smallshaw will take up the role of hydraulic systems Proposals Manager. Mr Smallshaw’s new role will help reduce the lead time when specifying hydraulic systems. This in turn enables Dave Whatmore to become IMC’s product specialist for Hydraulic Valves. In UK and Europe; Kevin Bowen will be the Alcon and Landon Kingsway Sales Manager.
