IMI Critical Engineering has upgraded the 860HPC choke valve launched in 2016 to mainly focus on higher pressure drop.
In Southeast Asia, initial gas production well start-up conditions will have pressure drop as much as 200 bar in a couple of months. And then, the well pressure drop will decrease to below 60 bar in several years. To accommodate this initial high pressure drop, IMI have designed the cage to have two pressure reducing stages to achieve up to 40% valve stroke. This added feature limits the vibration level and greatly reduces the erosion of the trim to extend the lifespan of the choke valve. The price of the upgraded 860HPC will also become more competitive.
In addition, the 860HPC also enjoys couples of capabilities – the first is its feature of fire-safe according to API 6FA, and the second is qualified for fugitive emission according to ISO Class B, and the third is pressure-tested according to API PR2.
Since the launch of 860HPC choke valve in March of 2016, IMI has achieved two significant wins. The first was for 72 choke valves, and the second order, for 25 choke valves.
