IMI launches SHP-SIS high-performance digital pneumatic positioner

IMI has launched its SHP-SIS Safety Smart High-Performance Positioner, a digital pneumatic positioner designed for ultra-fast stroking times and enhanced safety performance. Featuring a patented algorithm and high output CV, the SHP-SIS operates within pneumatic pressures of 2.5 to 10.5 bar (150 PSI) and ambient temperatures from -55 to 85°C (-67 to 186°F). Built-in partial stroke testing (PST) and solenoid valve (SOV) diagnostics ensure functional safety compliance and support preventative maintenance.

The SHP-SIS positioner integrates digital twin technology within the control system, enabling faster online swap-overs during maintenance, online data monitoring, and advanced diagnostics. Smart commissioning and a complete digital inventory of valve configuration and performance history streamline setup and operational management.

Available in low-copper aluminum or 316 stainless steel housings, with a painted option for harsh environments, the SHP-SIS features a robust design with a contactless travel sensor, touchscreen interface, and fully encapsulated electronics tested for high vibration and reliability. The positioner is TÜV-certified for SIS applications and meets IEC 61508:2010 standards up to SIL 3.
