INTECSEA awarded URF Design Engineering

McDermott has awarded INTECSEA the Design Engineering for the Ichthys Field Development project in the Browse Basin, offshore Western Australia. INTECSEA’s involvement will include project management and design engineering of the flowlines, riser systems, subsea structures, umbilicals and control system.

The Ichthys LNG Project is a Joint Venture between INPEX (76%, the Operator) and Total (24%). Gas from the Ichthys Field, in the Browse Basin approximately 200km offshore Western Australia, will undergo preliminary processing offshore to remove water and extract condensate. The 889km Ichthys gas export pipeline will transport production from the offshore central processing facility through a subsea pipeline to the onshore LNG facility to be located at Blaydin Point, Darwin, and Northern Australia. The Ichthys LNG Project is expected to produce 8.4 million tns of LNG and 1.6 million tns of LPG per annum, along with approximately 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.

Vince Vetter, senior vice president of INTECSEA ANZ said, “We are delighted to be part of the Ichthys project, which further reinforces our position as one of the world’s leading and most experienced deepwater engineering companies. INTECSEA’s portion of the project will be executed 100% in Western Australia, supporting INPEX’s commitment to local content.”

INTECSEA’s participation is expected to be completed in the first half of 2013.
