KOMC improves operations through ISO certifications

Kuwait Oilfield Maintenance Centre (KOMC) holds authorization to collaborate with major upstream and downstream market players in Kuwait. ISO certifications have played a crucial part in their journey to excellence.

In 2003, the company went through ISO 9001:2000 certification process for its quality management system with the aim to consistently provide products and services that meet customer requirements and comply with regulatory standards.

Six years later, in 2009, KOMC successfully obtained ISO 14001:2004 and OHAS 18001:2007 certificates for their health, safety, and environment management system. The company started implementing a systematic approach to minimizing environmental impact and ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.

In 2019, as part of its continuous improvement efforts, KOMC has chosen SGS to further enhance its operations through professional audits.

The decision to opt for SGS as its certification body was driven by the company’s proven track record of delivering high-quality audit and certification services.

In February 2019, SGS auditors first visited KOMC facilities to thoroughly study the company’s processes, conduct document reviews and interviews with employees. As a result of the audits, KOMC has been awarded three SGS certifications: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.

Audits conducted by SGS since 2019 on a yearly basis as part of the ISO certification process have been providing a solid foundation for KOMC’s success in the oil and gas industry.
