ITAG Valves and Oilfield Products (Celle, Germany) has supplied two 30-inch class 600 Top Entry Pig Valves (Scraper Launcher and Receiver Valves) to Saudi Aramco. The valves will be installed at two offshore platforms in Saudi Aramco’s Abu Safah Field. One valve will operate in a vertical the other one in a horizontal line. The Itag Top Entry Pig Valve combines the features of a reliable shut-off top entry ball valve with the possibility to launch or to receive scrapers or spheres via a quick opining closure being located perpendicular to the axis of the pipeline. ITAG has a long tradition in manufacturing high pressure pig valves for the oil and gas as well as for the chemical industry. Up to now more than 11,500 pig valves have been supplied. The 30” class 600 valves are the largest high-pressure pig valves being built so far.
