LK supplies manual valves for Viking Line’s cruise ship

Viking Line and Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. have appointed LK as supplier of all manual valves on board the new Viking Line passenger cruise ship.

We are very proud to have won this order,” says Johan Kindblom, Sales Director at LK. “A vessel of this type and size has several thousand manual valves spread across various systems on board. We have had a very creative dialogue with Viking Line when selecting the right valve types, materials and solutions for each application. Our team in China has also been in constant contact with the shipyard, providing technical support and verifying that everything will be to everyone’s satisfaction.”

Kari Granberg, Project Manager at Viking Line, agrees: “We have a good dialogue and cooperation with LK. It means a lot to know that there is support and spare parts available in our vicinity when the ship is in operation,” he says.

LK is producing and supplying premium quality valves, strainers and actuation solutions to the global marine industry. The company has its headquarters in Helsingborg, Sweden. Most of the products are manufactured in a fully owned factory in Changzhou, China.

Viking Line’s new vessel will be one of the most climate-smart ships in the world and will be launched for operation in early 2021 on the Turku–Šland–Stockholm route.
