A new series of ball-cage check valves from Parker Hannifin Instrumentation Products Division is optimised for higher temperature applications requiring long service lifetimes. The new CB Series check valve provides a simple means of adding protection in any system where back flow or pressure might cause a problem or damage.
Integrity is assured by features including a ball with a micro-finished surface for accurate resealing, a hardened cage using Parker’s proprietary SuparCase treatment, and a range of seals including a material that is compatible with fuel oils and amines, and which resists coking. These attributes make the new valve suitable for demanding applications in power generation, chemical processing, and oil/gas production. A typical example application is as a high-integrity replacement for the fuel, oil or water check valves required in power generation turbines. The valve is fabricated in 316 stainless steel and is available in 0.375, 0.5 and 0.75in sizes, and in straight or T shapes. Users can select springs for crack pressure ratings spanning a 1 to 120lb/in2 range. The body shell will withstand pressures to 206bar. Three types of seating material may be specified to suit the application’s media and temperature requirements – PTFE, Parkerfill or Vespel – which are capable of operating up to 204, 260 or 288C, respectively.
