Mactenn Systems Ltd has recently completed design improvements that allow their inflatable seat Inflatek® Valve to be rated as maintenance-free for its operating lifetime. Process industries world-wide are recognising the strength of the Inflatek® Valve in applications where conventional valves fail by reasons of temperature, aggressive duty, abrasive material or high pressure. From a valve that already has a proven record of reliability and long life, the latest design improvements make the Inflatek® Valve completely maintenance-free, requiring no daily or weekly lubrication or attention. This is achieved by the introduction of new features, some of which have received new European patents.
Recently a major chemical producer introduced the Inflatek® Valve to a special mixing process where a pressure tight seal is required for a high-pressure process. Closing and sealing on the full head of material was necessary to support a pressure differential of 4 barg. Similarly a pharmaceutical plant is using the valve in application were materials require absolute pressure sealing while the material is in contact with the material passing through the valve. The pressure differential is 6 barg.
