Metso’s Automation business line is entering the final phase of integration of the MAPAG product line by making some changes in the German management team. Since 1 May 2009, Esko Ilmonen has been both Country Manager Flow Control and Vice President of the MAPAG product line. Together with Guido Degenhardt and Ari Mikkonen, on 25 May 2009, Esko Ilmonen was also appointed Managing Director of Metso Automation MAGAP GmbH, headquartered in Horgau close to Augsburg. These management changes allow Metso’s Automation business line to reinforce the integration of MAPAG into the corporate structure as well as the integration of MAPAG products into its extensive programme of automation and information management systems for intelligent valve technology, which the two well-known product lines Neles and Jamesbury were already part of. Now, contact partners for German users are available at the Metso sales office in Leverkusen and the Metso production plant in Horgau. Here, the product line MAPAG produces high-performance, engineered and specialty valves in different materials. Resistant against numerous aggressive chemicals, the valves withstand temperatures from -454F to +2642F and operate with pressure up to 5800psi, ranging in size from 0.6in to 100in. Due to their extreme tightness, they are used in different processes in the chemical and petrochemical industry, for air separation and LNG as well as in offshore applications and power plants.
