Metso has announced an upgrade of the Neles intelligent valve controller, ND9000, which now incorporates a range of improvements that enhance its market-leading diagnostics and control performance, robustness and the ease and efficiency of commissioning. The calibration time for the 2010 upgrade has been reduced by 30 to 75%, depending on the actuator volume. It also has improved usability in instant reaction to buttons, and a running index showing the progress of the calibration run. When assembled on linear valves, linearization can be effectively carried out using an easy, guided process by the user, and the robustness of the ND9000 has been boosted to meet the most demanding field conditions. Reducing life cycle costs, Metso’s iCV (Intelligent Control Valves) with ND9000 valve controller help process plants to increase process efficiency by means of control valve constructions that provide superior performance, reliability and control accuracy. The new fast calibration capabilities of the ND9000 will reduce the commissioning time during start-up and maintenance which, together with unique online performance diagnostics and predictive maintenance features, will reduce life cycle costs.
