Midland Manufacturing, a global player in railroad tank car safety valves and equipment and a division of OPW Fluid Transfer Group, has announced the appointment of Thomas Zant to the position of President. In this role, Mr Zant will be responsible for providing overall direction for the company. Initially Mr Zant will be focused on accelerating new product development and enhancing the company’s focus on 100% customer satisfaction. Mr Zant brings a broad experience in engineering, lean manufacturing and international operations to Midland after spending the past four years with Siemens Water Technologies/USFilter Corp., most recently as General Manager, Stranco and Wallace & Tiernan Products. His prior experience also includes positions with Pall Corporation, Harper-Wyman Corp., and General Dynamics Corp. In his new position Mr Zant will be reporting to David Crouse, President of the OPW Fluid Transfer Group. Midland Manufacturing, has also announced the appointment of Mr Thomas Noonan to the position of Chief Financial Officer. In addition to his responsibilities as CFO, Mr Noonan will also function as Midland’s export compliance officer.
