Modular system for “roll-your-own” actuators

Engineers can now build their own positioning actuators using the modular CAPR 43 system.
Recognising that even relatively simple linear motion applications all have different mechanical, load or space requirements, these modular actuators are easy to specify to the exact needs of the engineer. For example, different motors, front or rear attachment, stroke lengths and speeds can all be specified. Positioning accuracy and long service life has been ensured by using a method that detects position directly on the moving nut, thereby keeping moving parts to a minimum and reducing scope for error. Stroke lengths are from 50 to 700mm, loads are from 2000 to 4000N and speeds up to 33mm/s. Linearity is +/-5% and an analogue feedback positioning system can be supplied. Supply voltage is typically 24V DC with other options available. An IP65 version of each actuator is available.
