KSB Aktiengesellschaft (Frankenthal, Germany) is launching a new compact valve for HVAC applications. The new BOA-Compact is standard equipped with a throttling valve plug, locking device, travel stop, position indicator and an insulating cap with anti-condensation feature. It is therefore designed to meet all shut-off and throttling needs in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems with a single design variant. This greatly simplifies the planning process and ordering of the valves. Based on its linear flow characteristics, it is an excellent choice for all flow control duties. When equipped with a smart actuator, the valve even serves as a fully fledged control valve. The optimised length of its collar makes for easier and less expensive insulation. The standard anti-condensation feature makes this valve equally well suited for use in air-conditioning applications, because it does away with the problem of condensation water on the body material. The materials used are designed for the temperature range from -10°C to +120°C. But for brief periods of time the valve will also cope with temperatures of up to +130 °C.
