The new IQT electric actuator from Rotork brings the advantages of IT to the compact, direct drive actuation of quarter-turn valves. Rotork pioneered intelligent valve actuation in the early 1990s with the launch of the original IQ multi-turn actuator. Now in its second generation, Rotork has introduced permanent environmental double-sealing, infra-red “non-intrusive” commissioning and communication, on-board data logger, rationalised “system on a chip” electronics and comprehensive control and indication flexibility. The IQT incorporates these features within a compact, dedicated quarter-turn mechanical package designed for the efficient, direct drive operation of valves requiring torques up to 2000Nm. All IQT actuators incorporate a double-sealed, permanently watertight enclosure conforming to IP68 (NEMA 4, 4X and 6). Hazardous area actuators are fully approved to the latest ATEX standards.
