Arthur Stoddart has been offered the position of Managing Director for Germanischer Lloyd’s (GL) UK division. Germanischer Lloyd employs 500 experts serving the maritime as well as the oil and gas industry and the expanding renewable energy market. Formerly, the 50-year-old British citizen has been Operations Director at Atkins, in Europe. Arthur Stoddart is in charge of a rapidly growing business segment providing a broad spectrum of testing, certification, software, asset management and consulting services focusing on oil and gas, and the renewables and utilities sectors. Special focus will be on technical support and consultancy to the international oil and gas (including LNG) and water industries. In his new position, Arthur Stoddart reports to Dr Hans Berg, Executive Vice President Europe of GL.
