Pentair announced the launch of its new Biffi DCM2 diagnostic communication master for remote actuator control. Providing advanced, centralized monitoring, the Biffi DCM2 system helps plant operators to optimize performance by highlighting the critical assets requiring maintenance. This enables more effective maintenance and asset repair, subsequently reducing costs and increasing plant efficiencies.
Complex, large scale plants present significant challenges to plant operators looking to manage and control critical assets. The Biffi DCM2 provides rapid analysis of electric actuators in the field by acting as an interface between the main control system and field devices.
Pentair’s Biffi DCM2 offers extensive remote connectivity through its innovative, multi-loop technology that notifies the control room without impacting the operation of the unaffected loops in the same network. This reduces the need for unplanned plant shutdown or service downtime by signalling to the plant operator the exact device that requires maintenance. Using this diagnostic data enables plant owners and operators to more effectively monitor critical equipment and respond quickly where maintenance is required.
Biffi DCM2 features a powerful graphic user interface featuring an intuitive 10” touch screen for ease-of-use for the operator. Its compact size offers minimum footprint within the control room, and a 78 Kbps connection speed enables rapid and real-time access to data to ensure quick reactions to system errors.
“Biffi DCM2 is one of our latest Pentair actuator monitoring product introductions,” comments Carlo Doglio, Smart Center Manager, Pentair. “We created a user-friendly and accessible control system which helps overcome the challenges of monitoring critical assets in large, modern plants. Combining our technical expertise and vast knowledge of valve actuation, we offer reliable control systems that help customers save time and maintenance costs, as well as optimize valve diagnostics to increase plant performance.”
