New SBR technology

The seaside town of Charmouth in West Dorset (UK) is the location of the first treatment works to install a ABJ sequencing batch reactor (SBR) system developed by ITT Sanitaire incorporating Auma Sipos actuator technology. The new SBR control solution is part of a GBP 4.5 million programme by Wessex Water to upgrade the sewage treatment plant. Using Auma Sipos Flash 5 actuators, variable decanter arm movement of the SBR gives flow control to respond to the seasonal load fluctuations of the tourist site. Other benefits offered by the system include comprehensive data feedback and details of SBR functionality provided by intelligent functions within the actuator element of the solution.
