New state gas company in Venezuela

Venezuela will create a new state gas company this year to spearhead development of the country’s huge natural gas reserves on an equal footing with the strategic oil industry. The new separate entity, which has yet to be named, would be formed out of the existing PDVSA Gas, which is owned by the state petroleum company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).
