Flowserve Flow Control (UK) has introduced a new tamper-proof, lockable valve wrench which ensures that the valve can only be operated by authorised users. The wrench has been devised for process applications where valve position integrity could have a significant health & safety impact – notably isolation for downstream equipment maintenance, positive supply of emergency feeder systems or control of hazardous media. The design employs a number of features to ensure that the valve cannot be over-ridden or accidentally operated. These include: prevention of stop-pin removal; tamper-proof two-piece assembly; and prevention of wrench nut removal once the padlock is fitted. A spring-loaded latch also ensures that the valve cannot be operated accidentally, even if the padlock is not fitted.
