New wireline logging head

AnTech Ltd, the UK-based engineering design and manufacturing company serving the oil and gas industries, has announced the latest addition to its range of wireline logging tools and equipment with the launch of its new wireline logging head. The new AnTech logging head provides an improved means of connecting tools, such as casing collar locators and perforating guns, to the remainder of the string. Until now, the industry standard in wireline logging heads has been to use a mechanical shear pin or hydraulic release to disconnect. But these tools have proven to be problematic in that they can release prematurely. The primary benefit of the new AnTech logging head is that it features an electrical disconnect that prevents premature release, as well as the associated disruption and lost time. The AnTech logging head’s compact slimhole design, which is as small as 1-11/16″, is designed for versatility and to assemble and instal. The system’s dual check valves may be removed or replaced with other valves, such as flapper valves, so that it is extremely adaptable.
