Norway: Technip wins offshore contract

Technip has been awarded by Marathon an EPCI (engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning) contract worth approximately EUR 130 million, for the installation of the subsea system for the Alvheim field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The contract includes design and supply of all line pipes, flexible pipes, umbilicals, riser bases and manifolds. The installation work is scheduled to take place during summer 2006. Technip Offshore Norge AS, based in Oslo (Norway), will perform the contract’s project management and engineering. The flowlines will be fabricated at the Group’s welding base either in Evanton (UK) or Orkanger (Norway). The flexible risers and the umbilicals will be manufactured at Technip’s facilities in Le Trait (France), and in Newcastle (UK) respectively. The offshore operations will be undertaken by vessels from the Technip’s fleet including the Apache for the pipe laying, the Deep Pioneer for structures installation of structures and the Wellservicer for spools installations and tie-ins.
