Novolac "520" passes test

Advanced Valve Technologies (AVT) has been given details by Huntsman Advanced Materials regarding the AVT520 proprietary Novolac material in sodium hypochlorite corrosive services. Severe trials by Huntsman exposed the "520" material to 7% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) for 64 weeks (16 months) at a temperature of 60 C. The performance was considered extremely good, with a surface degradation of just 0.35mm. AVT believes its valves and blind flanges in their proprietary Novolac AVT520 will give good service in these harsh environments.
