Velan has received contracts for nuclear valves for a total of USD 60.5 million from China Nuclear Power Engineering Co. (CNPEC). The nuclear classified valves are for the next six CPR1000 nuclear power plants to be built by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Co. (CGNPC) in China for the Yang Jiang 3, 4, 5, and 6, and Fang Chengang 1&2 projects. These valves include pneumatic and electric actuators and are for service inside the Nuclear Island. Velan was also selected by the joint venture of CNPEC and TNPJVC to supply bellows globe valves, check valves, electric-operated globe valves, and instrument valves for the third-generation reactors C-EPR of Taishan 1&2. Areva and EDF ordered several nuclear spare parts and maintenance orders for nuclear power plants in France. The orders are expected to be shipped from 2011 through to 2014.
