Offshore valve maintenance contract

Centrica has awarded Aker Kvaerner’s Engineering Services business a contract for the recertification of pressure safety valves for its operations based out of Morecambe Bay, UK. The contract covers the offshore facilities, which consist of nine offshore platforms, two onshore gas processing terminals at Barrow (North Morecambe and South Morecambe terminals), and the Barrow Condensate Storage Facility. Of the nine offshore platforms this includes Centrica’s operation of Millom and Dalton fields on behalf of Burlington Resources (Irish Sea) Ltd. The Humber Workshops will be responsible for all pressure safety valves, maintenance and recertification, to include offshore support for shutdowns. The contract is scheduled to commence this month for a duration of five years, with extension options of 2 x one year periods.
