Oliver Valvetek is proud to support the Shell-operated Sparta development in the Gulf of Mexico with a range of high-performance subsea needle valves, engineered specifically for 20,000 psi High Pressure / High Temperature (HPHT) conditions.
These valves will be installed on the subsea trees used throughout the Sparta field, providing reliable isolation and control in one of the most demanding offshore environments. The project represents a significant milestone for Valvetek as it continues to support the world’s most advanced deep-water developments.
Sparta is a joint venture between Shell Offshore Inc. (operator) and Equinor Gulf of Mexico LLC. Once operational, it will become Shell’s 15th deep-water host in the Gulf of Mexico. The development boasts an estimated recoverable resource of 244 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), with peak production expected to reach approximately 90,000 boe per day.
Production from Sparta is currently scheduled to begin in 2028.
