OMEGA introduces its SV-10 Series solenoid valves for corrosive applications that use only plastic or elastomeric materials: PVC for the body, Buna-N, EPDM, and FKM for isolating and main diaphragms, and a fully epoxy-encapsulated pilot solenoid actuator. The pilot actuator uses the pivoted armature design, which hermetically isolates the fluid medium from the armature. The magnetic forces generated are optimized mechanically using the lever principle. The design of these valves reduces noise and the likelihood of water hammer. The main seat seal is a stable, long-lasting flat diaphragm that provides a tight shut-off at the valve seat. SV-10 Series valves are ideally suited for the control of difficult fluids and in aggressive environments such as pure water, demineralized water, seawater, acids of medium concentration, salt solutions, as well as alkaline washing and bleaching lyes.
Specifications include a mounting position, PVC Body and internals, a max ambient temperature of 40°C, a max viscosity of approximately 2.3 x 10-4ft2/s and a coil voltage of 120Vac. It has a voltage toleranceof ±10%, a power consumption of AC: 20VA (inrush), 11VA/5W (hold) and DC: 5W. The opening time is 100 to 800ms and the closing time 1000 to 4000ms.
Response times are measured at nominal pressure of 85 psi using water and depend on orifice and operation of the valve as well as on pressure and viscosity of the medium. The cycling rate is approximately 10 to 50cpm with a duty cycle of continuous (100%) and an F-type connector as electrical connection.
