Oregon ethanol plant

A farmer-owned co-operative, Oregon Trail Ethanol Coalition LLC, is planning to enter the ethanol market with the construction of a corn-based fuel ethanol plant. Initial talks are proceeding with Lurgi PSI (Memphis, Tennessee, USA) to construct this USD 55 million plant close to Davenport, Nebraska. The plant will use a dry-mill process and process roughly 14 million bushels per year of No. 2 yellow corn into 40 million gallons per year of fuel grade ethanol.126,000 tons of Dry Distillers Grain by products will be produced and the carbon dioxide will be captured from the distillation process to sell to the beverage industry.
Construction is projected to begin in the first quarter of 2003 and to take 12 months to complete.
