Parker, a diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, has recently launched new miniature solenoid poppet valve, called the Series LX.
The Series LX miniature poppet valve features a special latching device that allows the valve to remain in open or closed positions over indefinite periods of time without consuming battery power. This feature enables the solenoid poppet valve to draw current in very short pulses, significantly extending battery life. The valve’s miniature size and low weight allow easy integration into small, portable devices. It provides highly reliable pneumatic on/off control for critical applications, delivering up to two million open/close cycles for a standard lithium AA battery.
A smaller, lighter weight and longer-lasting battery pack, made possible by the Series LX valve, creates new design possibilities for engineers. Design engineers will also find less heat dissipates into systems that typically accompany continuously powered solenoid valves, thereby reducing passive or active cooling needs.
Other highlights of the Series LX valve include: Operates at 0.4 bar (about 6 psi) and accepts common input voltages from 3V DC to 24V DC, can be integrated directly onto PCBs or mounted on single or multiple-station manifolds and Accepts standard flexible tubing for simple and efficient system connections.
