Parker’s Integrated Piston

Parker Hannifin’s Seal Group has introduced its new Integrated Piston™, a device that combines piston, bearing and seal into a self-contained package for low-, medium- and high-pressure hydraulic cylinder applications. The Integrated Piston incorporates a bearing with an expansive surface area, a precision-toleranced design and intricately machined surfaces. These features help reduce side load effects, enabling the device to outperform conventional assemblies in aerial lifts, excavators, mobile and industrial equipment and other applications where safety and prolonged service are critical. The standard piston component of Parker’s integrated assembly is machined from cold drawn carbon steel. A variety of other core metals are available. The bearing, which consists of thermally stable, non-hygroscopic WearGard™ material, is moulded directly onto the piston core. The assembly’s seal element can be manufactured from a wide range of materials, including PTFE, Ultrathane™, Resilon™ HT, Resilon™ ER and Molygard™. Available seal profiles include Parker’s bi-directional, energised BP, OK, S5000 and R5100, among others. Parker’s Integrated Piston is available in standard sizes from 1.5″ to 4″ bore diameter, and in custom sizes up to 9″ bore diameter. Metric sizes up to 229mm are also available.
