Qatar fertiliser plants modernised

Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO) have recently awarded Uhde GmbH two new contracts: ammonia/urea plants 1 and 2, which were not constructed by Uhde and which went on stream 23 and 30 years ago, are to be equipped with a new high-voltage supply station for power generation and distribution, thus making for safe and steady-state operation and excellent dependability of the plants.
For many years, Uhde GmbH has been a successful contractor for the construction of large-scale fertiliser plants on behalf of QAFCO. After the successful commissioning of a large fertiliser complex in 1997, Uhde engineers are currently working on another major fertiliser complex, QAFCO 4, worth USD 420 million. The overall scope of engineering work to be performed for the said contracts totals about EUR 20 million.
