Further to the Nether Seal web news dated 7 October 2008 Nether Seal has been successful in designing and manufacturing large size Rising stem ball valves for high pressure service. All components for the size 10in ANSI Class 1500# Full bore valves such as body, bonnets and internals have been made from forged materials. The valve bodies were produced from round forgings in material ASTM A105N with a diameter of 820mm. As in general, the delivery time for casting materials from the foundries is increasing; Nether Seal takes the opportunity of the better availability of forged raw materials. Materials in forged condition are generally more homogeneous compared to cast materials which increase the overall level of quality. The metal to metal seated Rising stem ball valves ANSI Class 1500 # have been supplied for high content H2S gas service in combination with high temperature and high differential pressure. Also the valves are suitable for bi-directional service. As a standard all Nether Seal Rising stem ball valves are supplied with STELLITE6 © overlay on ball core and seat seal area. The assembly and pressure testing of the valves has been done at the Nether Seal facilities at Nieuwkoop, The Netherlands. After successful pressure testing according to API 598, the valves with a weight of almost 3000kgs each, were shipped to the coating facility to apply special painting for high temperature service.
