Rosneft, Pirelli & C. S.p.A. and Rostec State Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding for joint research and development activities. The agreement was signed by Igor Sechin, president and chairman of the Management Board at Rosneft, Marco Tronchetti Provera, president, CEO of Pirelli and Sergei Chemezov, general director of Rostec State Corporation. The companies plan to cooperate in research and development of high-tech synthetic rubber and reinforcing materials including carbon nanotubes.
Commenting on the signing, Sechin said, “The realization of this project will help Rosneft and its potential industry partners with the participation of Pirelli and Rostec to organise an efficient production of the most advanced, high quality materials, elaborated by state of the art technologies.”
Chemezov commented, “The partnership between Pirelli and Rosneft, in the sphere of development of new materials, allows Rostec to firmly establish itself in the global market segment. Commercialisation of R&D results is one of the priorities of the corporation.”
‘Pirelli’s Provera added, “Russia is of strategic importance to Pirelli and this Memorandum shows that commitment growing deeper. It is also an opportunity for Pirelli to take advantage of the great expertise and experience of its two Russian partners”.
