Rotork has increased the performance and versatility of its well-established IQT range of robust and reliable non-intrusive intelligent electric valve actuators. The new model facilitates the direct drive of larger part-turn valves.
The new IQT3000 actuator increases the maximum output torque capability to 3,000 Nm (2,214 lbf.ft), enabling the direct drive of an increased range of part-turn valves. The IQT range now delivers an output torque performance spanning 20 to 3,000 Nm (15 to 2,214 lbf.ft), enabling compact and economical actuation of larger part-turn and linear valves without secondary gearboxes.
Long-term reliability of all IQT variants is optimised by proven and robust mechanical features including oil-bath lubrication, motor-independent handwheel operation and the double-sealed IP66/IP68 (20 metres for 10 days) enclosure, which permanently protects internal electrics from the ambient environment, even during site wiring with the terminal housing cover removed. Hazardous area certification is available to international standards.
All IQT actuators incorporate the advanced functionality and asset management capabilities of Rotork’s 3rd Generation intelligent technology. Rapid and secure non-intrusive commissioning and configuration is via an intrinsically safe Rotork Bluetooth® setting tool, with or without mains power connected. The same tool facilitates data downloads and control upgrades in the field.
Local position indication, valve and actuator status, asset management and diagnostic operating information can be viewed directly at the actuator or downloaded to the control room using Rotork’s Insight2 software. This allows preventative maintenance to be scheduled, eliminating unplanned outages and downtime at a plant.
The actuator display module can be rotated to suit any orientation on the valve. In areas where access is restricted a Remote Hand Station can duplicate the local monitoring and control interface at a convenient location up to 100 metres from the valve.
