Saipem, Aramco trust Ampo Poyam Valves

Saipem had won two engineering, procurement, installation, and construction (EPIC) contracts from Saudi Aramco in January 2019 for the development of Berri and Marjan offshore fields. Both contracts are part of a long-term agreement for offshore activities signed by the Italian oil and gas industry contractor with Saudi Aramco, which plans to boost the Marjan and Berri fields’ production capacity by 550,000 barrels per day of Arabian Crude Oil and 2.5 billion standard cubic feet a day of gas.

Both companies have trusted in AMPO POYAM VALVES for the design and manufacturing of diverse highly engineered check valves with Inconel overlays for the development of the beforehand mentioned Berri and Marjan fields located in the Arabian Gulf.

The project’s scope of work for AMPO POYAM VALVES involves the design and manufacturing of check valves up to 36” and 1500 lbs with Inconel overlays. These valves will be installed on the offshore platforms as well as on the flowlines, in the topside piping of Berri field. AMPO POYAM VALVES has its own integrated foundry and a brand-new machining plant with cutting edge machining units and weld overlay technologies. Consequently, cladding operations for those valves will be handled in AMPO with a high level of automation with welding robots and cladding cells.

All these valves will be delivered in 2020.

Saipem and Saudi Aramco have decided to work with AMPO POYAM VALVES for this project due to its certified quality and its in-house capability of manufacturing highly engineered and customized valves for the offshore industry.
