Samsung Engineering, PTTGC sign a contract

Samsung Engineering Co., Ltd, signed yet another contract at an official signing ceremony with PTT Global Chemical Public Co. (PTTGC), a Thailand state-owned Petrochemical and Refining company, for a USD 820M Olefins Reconfiguration Project (ORP). The project is located in Map Ta Phut, Rayong 150km southeast of Bangkok.

Samsung Engineering will execute on a EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) lump-sum turnkey basis with CB&I Technology Inc. as licensor. The plant will produce 500,000 MTPA of Ethylene through the major Naphtha Cracker Unit, and further will produce 250,000 MTPA of Propylene. The ORP plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

Samsung Engineering has delivered the TOCGC Ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol (EO/EG) Expansion II Project, TOC EO/EG Purification Project and TOC EO/EG Project successfully and is further executing the GC Oxirane Propylene Oxide (PO) project for PTTGC subsidiary.
