Tyco Valves & Controls has released its Sapag Monovar pressure control valve. The valve’s cavitation characteristics make it suitable for high pressure drop applications, as well as being able to control a high pressure differential in relation to its inlet pressure.
The accurate flow and pressure regulation capabilities are applicable to industrial water applications in water distribution, hydro-power stations and process industries. Monovar uses a sliding plate design which incorporates one moving plate upstream, one fixed plated downstream and approximately 56 tapered control ports. Significantly reducing water turbulence, it settles any disturbed water within two lengths of the valve diameter, providing quick flow recovery.

This design feature allows for compact installation. It ensures pipeline system designers have more flexibility in designs and layout, allowing for a smaller footprint upon installation. When fully closed the valve has a leak rate comparable to AMSE B16.104 Class III and can be operated both manually or by using pneumatic, hydraulic or electric modulating actuators.
In addition it can be used at a differential pressure which is 80% of the inlet value, with a pressure range of 50bar and a temperature range from 60F to 390F. Sapag, located in France, also extended its size range recently up to DN 2100.
