Score completes valve repair campaign

Score Group recently completed a valve repair campaign for a client in the Middle East, consisting of the repair of 36 Control Valves, 29 Actuated Isolation Valves, 261 PSVs, and 24 Durco Plug Valves.
As part of the scope, Score Group supplied all tooling and facilities, which made the team self-sufficient while at the client’s facility.
The equipment provided included; onsite machines for machining valve end connections and bonnet seal areas, valve seat lapping tools, an 8ft x 10ft PSV testing workshop container, a 20ft valve and PSV testing workshop, and a mobile toolchest for onsite activities. In addition to this, consumables and basic valve spares, such as gasket material, gland packing, and bolting were also supplied as contingency spares.

Some of the valve repairs were for valves on Hydrofluoric Acid service and required Score Group technicians to wear Class D Air suppled suits to carry out the decontamination process. Once the valves were decontaminated and relevant checks were completed onsite, the valves were then transferred to the Score Group onsite facility for overhaul and repair.
All valves were stripped, inspected, refurbished, re-built utilising Score Group and client owned spares, ensuring full traceability, before the valves were finally tested as per their relevant specification.
